DRAFT 2.0
Spatial extraction
The Künstlerhaus Factory serves as a three-dimensional frame. We appropriate this space in a process of gradual reduction of the perceptible volume. Black thread becomes three-dimensional lines that form a spatial structure. Distance rods allow us to enter the space at points. They are woven into the structure and create additional volume.
The process of appropriating space stands as a metaphor for a permanent change in our environment. Spaces are occupied, reduced, condensed. Perceptible changes emerge.
A group begins the process, the group changes, it grows, shrinks, new impulses are added. The process stands above the result, which is a snapshot and status quo at the end of the chosen period.
The performance “KONNEX” by Isabel Belherdis interacts with the room installation. A human being is integrated into the system via pulling threads and sets it in motion. The performance can be understood as the integration of a dynamic, changing force that acts on a system.
