We are delighted about the presence of our Simmering care home project in the Wien Museum.
In the Community Gallery, the Wien Museum invites residents of the city to make their concerns and perspectives visible. It is intended to be a space for encounters and exchange, where learning from and with each other takes centre stage.
Under the title ‘My advice for life’, the therapeutic team of the Simmering care home initiated a photo exhibition with 30 portraits of residents of this institution, combined with ‘life wisdom’ from the people depicted. The exhibition was originally conceived for presentation on site and is now on show at both the Wien Museum and the Simmering District Museum: all the photos can be seen in the Community Gallery at the Wien Museum, projected in large format as a loop. They are complemented by short films that provide insights into the everyday work of those who provide therapeutic support to the residents. An exhibition that focuses on two groups: older people with their rich background of experience and the therapeutic staff with their challenging work, which often goes largely unnoticed by the public.
Our model of the Simmering care home can also be seen as part of the exhibition.
