The planned Abundance Gate offers start-ups from the field of biotechnology laboratory and office space in variable sizes, including the appropriate infrastructure, for rent.
The architectural solution consists of two bodies of different lengths, which contain the modular office and laboratory spaces and are connected by an atrium in between, including access and ancillary rooms.
Access is via a foyer on the ground floor, to which the atrium and the seminar rooms facing the green area are assigned. On the side facing Breitenfurter Straße is the catering area; in the basement is an underground garage for cars and bicycles as well as the building services.
From the first floor upwards, the building is equipped on all sides with cantilevered grating bars and trellises that enable greening of the façade and thus make an important contribution to climate resilience. The plants have a supporting effect against urban heat islands and serve to improve the microclimate and air quality. The flat roof is also greened and equipped with photovoltaics.
